|||| Why 4?

Four is a significant number across cultures and history. Think of the four seasons, four cardinal directions, four elements, four humours, four colours of the medicine wheel. We have four limbs and live in four dimensions. Four is the first composite--or non-prime--number, which makes it a community: individuals coming together to make something greater than themselves, much like this project.

Plus, in a less grand sense, I used four lines in the drawing that inspired me to start this project.

\\\\ Who am I?

I am Tyler Letkeman and I am the founder, editor and webmaster of four lines. I am a high school English and Physics teacher, husband, and father of three. I read and write (and live) in Manitoba, Canada. I have an ever growing collection of rejections, though have poems published on Global Poemic, and Lothlorien Poetry Journal, and in Pulp Mag. I have also made and self-published a chapbook, Gaia's New Clothes, about our evolving relationship with nature.
